Sleep to learn - wyśpij sobie pamięć

Malwina Mielcarek

The webinar will focus on mechanisms underlying memory consolidation and will directly relate to sleep and sleep-dependent consolidation processes. I will provide an overview of memory processes and brain systems that contribute to memory consolidation during sleep. I will show that these processes are not uniform and the brain orchestrates learning on a fine-tune level. Some of the new techniques used to manipulate memory consolidation in sleep will be mentioned. Finally, the lecture will discuss the benefits of sleep and wake states, such as a meditative state of the brain, for learning and how these two states compare to each other.
